Need a Lift in Boston

To hoist a SJ21 Fred suggested to create a beam of two five foot 2 by 6 bolted and carpeted placed six inches forward of the hatch against the cabin roof. Previously I had lifted boats using keel bolts or a cable harness bolted to the centreboard trunk. I fear damaging the cabin roof/deck using this method. Having no prior experience with SJ21s I'm reluctant to try this method. Is the deck strong enough? Is this the standard method of hoisting a 21?
