Sharon ... The attachment is a photo of our rudder. It was put on the Class scale at the Nationals and came out at 5.5 lbs. The tiller and extension added 6 lbs.

It has sailed through numerous 25 mph races and doesn't seem to deflect or have any bending problems. It has a white cedar core made by cutting 2 inch strips full length rotating every other strip end over end then using West System epoxy to join them into a plank for forming. After shaping, using a foil section from the internet, it was covered with E-glass and more West epoxy.
