Inspection Port - Full of Water in there

1977 Mark II - #1731

Unscrewed the inspection port in the V berth to find standing water.

What was the inspection port intended to allow inspection of?

Seems like good news/bad news. Good news: no leaks in this part of the hull! Bad news: gotta pump the water out! I assume there's no way other than to pump it out...

The boat's been uncovered, sitting on a trailer for the last couple of years. The companionway cover on this boat is pretty well shot, so I assume the water got in that way.

Anyone have any thoughts or replies?

Thanks in advance.
