subject:Keel Problems
Had a similar incident of having a "helpful" crew member haul up the keel and not knowing when to stop cranking. We were at the boat ramp, over the trailer, so when the top of the keel top broke off, it dropped between the trailer rails and trapped the boat! The fix was a stainless plate,lag bolted in to the stump to reattach the wire block. I've also added a keel depth indicator, visible from the cockpit,so there is never a question how far down the keel is.
