I. The bunks on the trailer do ot slowy lose their ability to support ( actually it it the hull that gradually loses ability to support, but that is a different problem.) The are formed into the arc to support the shape of the hull. There should be three steel supports for the bunks on each side (if a Fleet Capt trailer). If not, this may be your problem. II. The 'boxes' on either side of the cabin are sometimes cut open for storage, someties not. Ther are often cut open on the top with a beveled wooden 'hatch cover' that just drops in in place. Sometimes used to house the ships battery, occasionally used for a sink(yes, a sink), they generally just collect 'stuff' which adds weight to the boat. III. The keel winch ( as opposed to wench) may not have a 'pawl' and may be a 'friction clutch' design....It may just crank in ether direction...go below while on the trailer and look..turn slowly, if you hear a clicking sound, that is up...STOP. There should be no clicking going down. IV. Interesting...the NADA (used car book people) have finally registered a marketplace reality..a price difference of $300 for a Mark I over a Mark II of similiar vintage and condition.
