subject:Anchoring Mast Head Light
I use an old railroad switchmans lantern. You can find them at antique stores, flea markets etc. Mine uses a 6 volt battery. Run the shackle of the jib halyard thru the lantern bale and snap it to the fore stay. Turn on the light and hoist about half way for a nice deck/anchor light. The weight of the lantern is adequate to lower it to the deck in the morning or you can attach a downhaul.
