My wife and I just bought a 1981 San Juan 21 from the second owner. I did not have time for much of an orientation. Would someone familiar with the process of "stepping the mast" explain how the mast is held into its bracket. Mr. Sage showed me some sort of heavy gauged metal assembly but I can't recall how it is used to hold the mast in the bracket.
