I am determined that this coming season I will be brave enough to fly the spinnaker that came with my boat. I have a whisker pole and have used it to wing-on-wing , but I have no spinnaker pole, just the mast-mounted uphaul-down- haul lines. Can anyone tell me the proper length for a spinnaker pole? If I can't find a used one, I'll likely order the 'rope-trip' ends and make my own from 1" aluminum conduit.Presumably, the up-down lines go to the center?

Also, a spinnaker sock seems like a great investment to me. Has anyone tried the 'chutescoop'? I measured my spinnaker luff at just over 22ft, so a 20ft sock should suffice?
