The Spinnaker pole is 8' from eye to eye (inside edge of) and should be 1.5 to 1.75" diameter. there is a lot of stress on the spinnaker pole so I would not do it with a 1" diameter.New poles are around $175.00 and up. I would look in the APS catalog http://www.apsltd.com/Tree/d3000/e541.asp
