subject:Homemade spin pole
Made my spinnaker pole our of a telescoping pool cleaning pole which cost about $25 new at Wal mart and is 8" long by 1.5" in dia. (the large section). I spliced eyes in the ends of a section of old stay to use as the latch cable (probably outlast the pole). The ends came from West Marine. Total cost about $45. Plenty strong and works better than I can work it.
