subject:Another Spinnaker rigging question
In a recent post on spinnakers, Jim added some very useful links to the message. One of these was an excellent spinnaker guide from the Washington Yacht Club which I found very interesting because I am still trying to get up enough courage to fly the chute with a short handed crew. This article lists the "Guy" line as one of the major components of the spinnaker rigging but I have never seen that refered to in any San Juan documents. It appears that this line controls the fore and aft position of the pole but little is said about where or how this line is attached or operated. I was under the impression that the pole just snapped over the respective spinnaker sheet.
Can anyone fill me in on this??
Bruce
