subject:Sea Witch #35 Keel Pivot Bolt seeping and rudder bungee leng
We have had the Sea Witch back in the breeze after a 10 year absence. Most of the kinks are being worked out. Two problems:1) I am having a slight bit of water seeping in from the keel pivot bolt.
2) The bungee cord on the rudder needs to be replaced. It neither stays up or completely down. Somewhere half way in the middle without assistance. Should the rudder be completely down when sailing? What size and length of bungee cord should be used to replace the worn out piece?
I also find it difficult to raise up without leaning way over the stern. Is there a better way?
Does anyone have any helpful hints for these conditions?
Thank you in advance.
Rick
