subject:Power keel winch, cutting holes in bulkheads and quarter ber
The SeaWitch is a 1972 production. It has no storage areas in the bulkheads like I see in many pictures on the Harbor site. Does anyone think it would any way weaken the structure of the boat to cut access into the bulkheads and quarter berths? I would trim them and put a nice cover over them. Plus I think that extra ventilation would be helpful. Also, my Dad wants to setup the boat to take out on his own. Old joints at 76 years are making working with the keel winch difficult. We just purchased a new one from Gene Adams but it still is a load. Does anyone have any experience with a power keel winch?
Thank you in advance for your helpful suggestions. The Harbor Site has been a lifesaver in getting the SeaWitch and me up to speed. It is quite different from the my Hobie background, slower paced, easier for my Dad.
