Trailer tires

I've been checking this site for prior messages re: trailer tires and didn't find answer to a question I have: I am looking to replace the P185/80R13 tires on my SJ21 trailer, and have heard that radials are better than bias plies for longer haul traveling. Some say that it doesn't matter as long as they're **trailer** tires as opposed to **passenger** tires.

I am in landlocked Memphis, and have to travel 2-5 hours to find fair sailing, or more if I venture to the Gulf.

Has anyone had good [or bad] luck with either type of tire? I've posted this to the trailersailor yahoo group and the votes are about equal there.

Thanks in advance.
