Sj Sailors,Three new things on Inland NW sailing
Labor Day, Lake Norman N.C.
While the Wind Gods didn't cooperate on Sunday we did get in three good races on Saturday. With eleven Sj 21's we were able to offer both working and all sails classes. With over 134 boats registered for the reagatta the party Saturday night was going to be a good one. All this took place on a warm North Carolina evening.
Ship / Captain / Crew, Lake Coeur d' Alene Idaho
The Ship Captain and Crew Regatta was held during a full moon on Lake Coeur d' Alene in North Idaho. Two Sj captains teamed up on High C's (Newport 27) for the evening race. This regatta has two distinct parts. The first is the race, but just as important is the ships log of the night's events.
Back Packing the Marine Highway to Alaska
Alan Riedel (Sj 21 #1217) and Teresa Drake put on their back pack and got on the Ferry to Alaska. Their story and pictures can be found on the web page. Imagine, tenting on the deck of a Ferry!
