subject: Moving Keel Winch to compression post

We have a 1972 Mark I with the keel winch bolted on top of the keel well. We are considering moving it to the compression post to get it out of the way, although easy access for shallow shoals has been a positive.

Does anyone have any pros or cons on whether moving the winch to the compression would be a good idea?

Also if we move it to the post, how do we remove the mounting bolts from the keel well or do we just leave them there or cut the off.
