subject:Moving Winch to Compression Post
We have hull #19 and moved the winch to the compression post. Remove the two nuts holding the winch to the keel trunk. Then lift off the winch. There will be two bolts sticking up out of the keel trunk. The bolts are welded to a stainless plate inside the keel trunk. To get it out lower the keel and push (hammer)the bolts down and the plate should fall out the bottem of the keel slot in the hull. Make sure that you use a new winch cable and a winch with a clutch rather than the old stye rachet type of winch.
