Message for Jim

Hi Jim,

I have a question, I have posted messages and I get many responses emailed directly to me. This is great, but I think the rest of the group misses out on the helpful hints and suggestions that I am only seeing.

I would like to know your thoughts on this. If it were not for all of the responses on the archive pages, I would not have been able to understand the inner workings of the San Juan 21 at this earlier stage. I have read everyone one, more than once, and without them to fend for myself, I could have not gotten the SeaWitch on the water in 14 days after purchase. And it goes without saying it would have taken me years to get the collection of knowledge that your web page allows a newcomer to the San Juan family.

I would vote that Harbor posting be shared so the next sailor can reap the benefits that were afforded to me through the Harbor.

PS, My Dad is like a kid at Christmas, my Mom always know why he is...on the SeaWitch dreaming up another trip or idea.

Fair Winds and thank you again

Rick out

Rick, My thoughts on responses are the same as yours. I have made several requests over the past 8 years for responses to questions to be made via a MESSAGE on the website. (Rather than an email to the person requesting the information.) For the same reason you cited ... so others can benefit from a respondent's information/experience.

I certainly can't require that responses be made public by posting on the website, but it certainly would be helpful. Anyone with other ideas, feel free to email me.

If those receiving personal responses to questions desire, of course, they can post the information received on the website themselves.

Wish I had a better suggestion. I'll just make the reply again ... if you have answers/information that may be helpful to those asking questions, PLEASE respond with a message on the website so that others may benefit from your knowledge/experience. "Many thanks!"

-Jim
