Keel Fairing and Go Fasts

I have been building and selling the keel fairings for four years now. I have sold quite a few of them because they do what they were designed to do, solve the problem of what to do with the front of the keel slot. I sell them to cruisers, casual racers and the dreaded hard core racer who must have every percieved go fast allowed. The cruisers and casual racers usually just screw them on and go have fun sailing. Now, it should be no surprise to anyone that the hard core racer is going to fair that part into the bottom of his boat. Just like he did to the knotmeter, the depth finder transducer, any thru-hull fittings, dings and dimples.

All of the class changes and modifications ( go fasts ) were promoted by class members and approved by class members or the elected officers. Now, if you don't agree with these modifications, that is ok, it is your boat to maintain and race at the level of performance you want it to be.

Within this class, you have choices. You can participate at what ever leval you want or feel comfortable with. You can choose to just race locally, go on road trips to Nationals, you can choose to trick out your boat with go fasts or keep your boat stock and still win races. What ever choice you decide on, the class needs to quit bickering with in itself. It is starting to get a black eye, as some of the recent posts have hinted at.
