When we purchased "Catspaws", it had been a neglected boat. My wife also felt the interior could use a facelift. She painted the entire interior with an epoxy based paint. This smoothed out some of the rough fiberglass work. Then in the area below the deck (we had a Mark I), she cut and glued on a woven fabric that reminded me of burlap. (She doesn't remember what it was). The material was not a natural material so it would not rot from the moisture. It held up very well during the 8 years we had "Catspaws".Of course, the other way you can look at this is that she's ready for a bigger boat.
Good luck on the "make-over".
