Ben - two thoughts, one for Ted, questions the mast head crane being longer in some pictures posted on the Fleet 1 site. I reviewed all the pictures on that site and don't see any mast head cranes that are out of the ordinary. The picture of Scout might give the impression of a non-std crane but I think that's because of the angle of the boat as shown.

I've seen two different mast head cranes standard on San Juans and I think it depends on who supplied the mast. Clark's used multiple suppliers of many components and weren't as dedicated to the one-design concept for the San Juan 21 as they could have been.
