Ted, my SJ21 was also full of water when i got it. I tipped the boat down by the bow and pumped and used a sponge to get it out. The side compartment appeared dry. I am not sure if it connects with the center or not. I have found no drain holes either. I am about 200 miles east of you in Iuka MS email me if you have any other questions.
