subject:san juan 21 hull issue
I am new to this type of sailboat but was interested in buying one recently. I was concerned when I examined it to find that there was a 2 foot long line in the floor to the left of the keel housing where you normally walk on the cabin floor. there was also some movement pushing down there vs on the right floor which had no line or movement. When I looked underneathe this boat I noted a few fine lines in the outer hull and again there was some movement when I pushed this area with my hand. I told the seller I would think it over. Less concerning to me was movement with walking near the mast on the roof of the cabin and many lines in the surface gelcoat on the upper part of the boat. Any advice from you expect San Juan owners in this forum since I do like the attributes of this type of sailboat and would like to purchase one. thanks
