In Montana, we are using 300lb on the lowers and 200lb on the uppers. If the lowers are too loose the spreaders move forward when the backstay is applied causing the uppers shrouds to go slack. You want most of the mast bend to be above the spreaders when the backstay is applied. More tension than 300/200lb is hard on the boat. Chad
