I used the quick release (top one in the linked page) on my DaySailer. It was perfect for that boat, as the rig was about half the weight of the SJ21's. I single-hand my SJ21 and find the backstay adjuster very easy to use for tensioning, especially w/4:1 purchase. Wouldn't use the lever.
