Here in fleet 1, we have two classes but one start. All boats are equal to the weather mark, then the spinnaker boats usualy have an advantage down wind, but not always. This way you can have lots of boats on the start line. If the course is kept small, you don't have to wait too long for the slowest boat and you get more races in.

The only problem may be that a Working Sails boat may get trapped by an all sails boat or the other way around.

I don't know what the Class Manual has to say about starts and classes.
