Mast Support

Hi Rick,

I think a mast support hanging on the pintals is pretty standard. The mast isn't heavy enough to cause any real problems using them for support. I use a metal tube about 4' long with bent nails welded to the tube which fits tightly into the pintals and a Y on the top for the mast to fit in. Simple, convenient, I see no reason to do it any other way.

Here's a picture of mine: 4' x 1 1/4" hollow square steel post- pintles and crutch welded on - Jim

I have a similar post and crutch welded onto the front of the trailer just in front of the bow pulpit when the boat is on the trailer.
