hull 'glass II

Well, all things considered I think that I will add a few layers along the forward birth. With two grade-school age boys I'd hate to have misc. body parts stuck through the hull while underway. Actually, I was thinking of epoxying a thin sheet of plywood in various places, both for strength under compression and for looks (I've had a cheoy lee 27....I miss the wood).

One other strange thing I've noticed with this Mk II is a considerable "freckling" in the gelcoat. On both sides this pattern shows for a couple of feet in the form of black-speckled bow and stern waves on the yellow hull. All of it is above the waterline.

Not an item for this year though....I need to get absolutes dealt with...I'm a lucky guy, 'cause wife and kids actually want to go sailing. I'll refit in a more complete manner next year.
