subject:Ladder
We are set to go for an extended voyage this summer on the SeaWitch. My Dad and I are getting items together that we need. (He is very excited about this trip, I get messages everyday about this or that)One question I have is a transom mounted ladder or an over-the-side model. Either way I need a beefy one to take the load I will put on it (257lbs, maybe some pre-trip training is in order too)
I am worried about the mounted transom model and possible damage in tearing off the transom that I have read in some of the posts. But the upside that I see is when you find yourself wet and you need to get back topside, you can do it yourself without having to worry about someone being there to drop the ladder over the side.
I see that Stephen Jensen has an over-the-side model, Stephen where did you get it?
Any comments and brand names would be appreciated. I hate re-inventing the wheel when the tried solution is already out there. Ask often, buy once is what my motto is.
Thanks in advance.
Fair seas and safe passages
Rick
