Rick,
My over the side ladder came with the boat. You can get them from West Marine or any other Store. I now have a rope ladder that I use for emergency's. This I got from West Marine also. It can hang from the transom, or from a cleat or winch. The idea of ripping out your transom is caused by water leaking into the balsa core. If you put weight on the ladder and you see the transom flexing, maybe you have a problem. I would be more worried about your outboard as it puts more stress on the transom.Chris,
I replace my cabin side cover material on Charmed Juan. It too was old and moldy. I used the cheapest outdoor carpet from Home Depot. Save your old stuff and use it as a template to cut out the new. I used 3M foam fast 74 spray glue. It's better than the Supper 77 in the fact it doesn't have much over spray. The carpet goes behind the bulkheads (MKII), I cut mine into two section so I didn't have to remove them.
