Thanks Gene for your response to my previous question.

I'm also curious how people support the mast while trailering (which would also be useful when stepping)? I have seen some pictures that show a mast support attached to the transom. Are there alternatives for a more transient mast support system? I appreciate any insight or photos.

Also, I've been working on a design for an a-frame style gin pole to help in single hand stepping. I saw a photo posted on 1/1/07 but no description. There was mention of "temporary stays," but I was not clear how those were setup. Any input on this subject would also be appreciated.
