Mast Rake v. Base Position

I did a little geometry this morning (it's easy with CAD software)
Holding the forestay length at 24' 4" and changing the base position from 98.5" to 100.5" changed the mast angle from 87.132 degress to 87.609 degrees. I assumed the forestay attached at the spinnaker block position on the mast - 22' 6". The difference in angular distance between the forestay attachement point on the mast for the two base positions is just over 1/4 inch. To get the 100.5 in. base position to have the same angle as the 98.5 in. base position the forestay length would need to be increase by 0.77 in. or roughly to 24' 4 3/4 ". Now what? Drag races to see if it makes a difference?
