subject:Keel Bolt leaks
When I got my boat ( brand new from the factory, The hole through the keel trunk for the locking pin had been miss drilled and filled with epoxy putty anr the putty was failing. I ground out the hole about five inches in diameter from the 1/2" hole and glassed the hole with small discs of glass alternating matt and roving layers. The idea is to butt the layers to obtain maximum strength. When I obtained the thickness of the keel well I drilled from the other side to give me a hole through solid glass. I also had made some neopreme washers cut to seal The keel pin and stop pin to keep them from leaking. I have them for sale for $.60 each. Gene
