subject:Sagging mast
Suggestions:#1. Cut a short piece of 2X4 to put between the middle of the mast and the deck at the compression post--cuts the span in half.
#2. Sweep the snow off of the tarp regularly--less accumulation. Don't forget to check that the cockpit drain isn't plugged with ice or debris.
#3. Unplug the spreaders from the mast section and let them lie on the deck under the mast--they're particularly vulnerable. Also allows the mast and tarp to assume a more roof-like shape.
#4. Use rope instead of bungees to lash the tarp to the trailer frame--keeps the tarp taut.
#5. Tow the boat to Baja and give the rest of us up here in the frozen north regular updates on your sailing adventures. (Ignore 1 thru 4).Dave
