Sagging mast

I assume your mast is supported at each end by the pulpit and a stern post. I place a 4X4 post in the middle of the mast between the mast and the roof with a 1'X1'X3/4" plywood square on the bottom to spread the load on the roof. You could install several more mast supports of simular design if a center support is not sufficient. As far as the water goes only being sure the tarp is as tight as possible and removing as much water as possible during a melt are the only solutions I can think of. Be sure to run a line from one corner of the stern around the top of the mast hold up post and tied off on the other stern corner because a high wind can put enough pressure on the tarp and post to bend the post- I know!

Hope this helps
