Sagging mast

Aluminum masts and booms have a memory which will return to it's original shape as long as there is not any kinks or severe bends in the aluminum. I once straighten a dinghy mast (Snipe) that had a 20 degree bend in it after a shroud broke in 25 knot winds. The key was padding and spreading the loads when trying to straighten a mast. If your mast has a small bend, it should straighten itself out after it is properly supported along its length and stored as has been suggested in the previous messages. Removing the spreaders is a very good idea.
