2009 Westerns - Brownsville, WA

In his post below, Gene Adams gives a link to the Brownsville Marina.

The website is: http://www.portofbrownsville.org/

The web site is excellent with links to rates, maps, weather and all sorts of info. Check it out.

There is a lot to see in the area, too; Illahee State Park (good overnight moorage and camping), the Naval Underwater Warfare Museum at Keyport (free), and more. For those who sailed from West Seattle to Blake Island last year, you were half way there via Rich Passage (south of Bainbridge Island). It's also an easy sail from Shilshole marina (Seattle) via Agate Passage (north of Bainbridge Island. (I realize that most 'Juaners are trailer sailers, but for those not concerned about sailing in Puget Sound it is a nice trip.)

Wet and dry moorage (parking for car, trailer and boat) is available and both are excellent.

The Brownsville Marina is considered to be one of the best kept secrets in the Puget Sound area. As a permanent moorage tenant at Brownsville (there are three of us fixed-keelers moored here), I'd love to see a few of you dangle-keelers come by. (even though we are not allowed to race).

If I can help yas ('yas' = plural of 'you'), I'd be glad to.
