Headstay length

We've been using a headstay length of 24'4" for years around here - the East - to get enough rake for slight weather helm and good pointing in light to moderate breeze. This measurement is from the pin on the mast to the pin on the stem fitting. You can use a stock headstay with a pair of link plates to add the other 3" and have some adjustability. There have been more than a few posts on this subject here in the past - try the Google search function on the site.
