jib cunningham

While it's certainly true the class rules forbid jib cunninghams, and therefore that Mike, class measurer, was clearly right to uphold the previous ruling, I would suggest we rescind it.

A cunningham is so easy and so inexpensive to rig, it wouldn't make any difference to anyone financially. Nor can it be construed in any way as a feature of a "development class."

When the winds pick up, tightening a halyard can be difficult. And the winch is often being used already for some other purpose...like sheeting a jib! How much easier would it be to tug a bit on a cunningham?

Anyone else agree with me?
