subject:COCKPIT LENGTH
I'm not sure what being an engineer has to do with measuring the length of the cockpit (I've known several engineers who couldn't read a rule). Anyway, my Mark II measures 81.25 inches from the companion-way hatch to the inside transom. Other than the volume in the cabin or cockpit, the one noticeable difference is the distance from the cockpit to the mast. This is significant when handling the whisker pole from the cockpit. Also the jenny sheeting angle is smaller on the Mark I.Ray Graber,

Ray, the engineer may have had a bad experience with his rule shifting into another time/space "continuim" (continuum?). I sure hope that doesn't happen to me while I'm measuring something! - Jim
