subject:Spectra Backstay
I think the class rules state that you must have wire connections from the top of the mast to chainplates for the backstay. I think everything else in you backstay adjuster can be (and should be) spectra or some other high strength line, but you do need at least one wire link. I have wire on my primary link and then the rest spectra, with an additional spectra safety line in case of major failure.
