subject:bearing buddy diameter
Hi all, I wanted to replace a broken plastic bearing buddy on my trailer, so I purchased som Red Eye bearing buddies. The diameter is 1.980 inches, which seemed to be the right size from measurements. However, they are about .005 inches too large in diameter to go into the hub. I haven't seen any that are slightly smaller, so what should I do? I can't explain the tiny difference in diameter. I thought about grinding down the outside of the bearing buddy, but that would be tedious. Ideas?Mark

Hi, My trailer has no name on it. It is old though. Has wood bunks, aft support, keel well. The boat is a Mark 1. circa 1974 or so.Thanks,

: -------------- What kind of trailer do you have? There are various types of trailers used by San Juan 21 sailors.
