Class perks

The almost instantaneous communications brought by the internet have rendered most print venues a weak also ran as a source for the latest news as evidence by the recent stoppage of the Seattle Newspaper's print edition. The Jibsheet has suffered as well. Much of what used to be sent to the editor for inclusion in the next issue is now discussed daily on this website. Personally, I think this is a good thing; but, as the editor of a printed newsletter it makes my life more difficult since there is little sent to me to print. I have been asking for several years at National meetings what the class wants to do about the Jibsheet. It has become irrelavant and a drain on the class treasury. Maybe this is the better forum for that discussion. Feel free to chime in. Class members what do you want for your dues? I can publish electronically for almost no cost at all. I can even publish more than 6 times a year. But to continue with the current print format seems to me as a loosing venture. There's less and less to print that takes longer to gather which then is less and less relevant. My local club has done away with the print version of our newsletter. It may be time for the printed Jibsheet to do the same. Let's hear from y'all.
