subject:What about a 'new' class webpage and online payments/class m
My biggest problem has been the inability to remember to pay my membership fee...I never seem to have my checkbook nearby when I need it (it's so antiquated). Personally, I would like to see the class redesign the national webpage and add the following:
(1) an online membership payment option
(2) a membership map (where every single member is marked on the map)
(3) an official fleet calendar of events (just one calendar with everything in it)
(4) links to Jim's forum
(5) links to various fleet webpages
(6) all of the jibsheets online (member's only section?)
(7) a user submitted SJ21 related story of the week or month.
(8) videos/pictures of the big racing & cruising events.Although we have an excellent support group, I would like us to improve our PR. For instance, I didn't even know a fellow SJ21 was so close to me until my girlfriend's boss's husband mentioned he had an old boat that he sold to a guy in b'ham, who just happened to post on this site one day. I saw his name, sent him an email and asked if he was the fellow I thought, and sure enough, he was. He'd been restoring the boat for 3 years, didn't know about this site, and dang sure didn't know someone was so close that could've helped him out. Just my $0.02
