subject: Should the mainsail hit the backstay?

I rigged and raised the sails on my MKII after many months of restoration. It seems like the top part of the leech (near the highest batten) would/is hit the backstay when tacking? I was only testing this in the driveway under a minimal sail load so I don't know if the dynamics would change when out in a real breeze.

Is this normal or do I have one of my other settings off (see related post about boom height)?
