Towing with a Pirus

I do not think it is a good idea.

Boat + motor + junk 2,000 lbs. Trailor 200-300 lbs.

I have towed my SJ 21 with an '82 Ford Fairmont, '89 Mustang, and now a 2001 Ranger. All were 4 cylinder, stick shift. The Fairmont had a simple bumper hitch, and the Ranger bumper has a hole in it to install the ball. Also came prewired for a trailor.

All are/were REAR wheel drive. I personally believe rear wheel drive is a stronger setup.

The Fairmont and Mustang were rated for 1,000 lbs. The Ranger is rated for 2,000. But--- I only towed 15 miles in the spring, and 15 in the fall. No long trips. The Ranger is by far the best.

I launch with the car/truck, but in the fall I have a travel lift at my club take it out, so as to get the bottom pressure washed.
