Overdrive while towing



Actually, I didn't see anything in my manual, that's why I was asking. Thanks for the info. I do remember the engine wanting to shift to keep up highway speeds on larger hills, (down shift to get to 60 then shift up but can't hold the speed) when the cruise control worked (long story), but now I just slow down on hills anyway (better gas mileage), and keep an eye in the mirror to let other's go by. Normally get about 17 mph towing if I keep below 3,000 rpm.

And, yes, the Escape has a factory install towing package with tranny cooler
