subject:Fleet growth
Fleet one has an active racing program which draws about 9 to twelve boats per race, and a cruising summer program. We run four or five one or two day cruises, and one longer cruise where some members charter larger boats to accommodate their families. Four people on a Juan is doable, but tends to strain relationships. We have gone to the San Juan's, and twice to the town of Ganges on Saltspring Island in the Canadian Gulf Islands. We stay for two or three days so the ladies can go shopping and sight seeing while the guys go sailing. We come back early so we can all go to dinner. This format has worked well for several years and attracts some who do not race.
